Potential Natural Vegetation:
This area supports natural prairie vegetation characterized by western wheatgrass, needleandthread, green needlegrass, and blue grama. Little bluestem is an important species on sloping and thin soils. Prairie cordgrass, northern reedgrass, big bluestem, and slim sedge are important species on wet soils. Western snowberry and prairie rose are commonly interspersed throughout the area. A small part of the area can support forest vegetation characterized by oak and aspen.
