Potential Natural Vegetation:
This area supports a transition between mixed and true prairie vegetation. Green needlegrass, western wheatgrass, needleandthread, porcupinegrass, little bluestem, and big bluestem are the major species. The bluestems and sideoats grama are dominant on the thin and shallow soils. Bur oak, buffaloberry, and prairie rose are common on slopes along the major streams.
