Land Use:
Nearly all this area is in large ranches, most of which is in native grass grazed by livestock. Tracts along the streams and subirrigated valleys are used largely for hay, and the rolling hills and dry valleys are grazed. Use of sprinkler irrigation has increased in recent years. Corn is the principal irrigated crop.
