Elevation and Topography:
Elevation ranges from 200 to 300 m, increasing gradually from the lakeshore inland. Some rocky knobs, hills, and low mountains make up part of this nearly level lake plain. Local relief on the lake plain is only a meter or two, but the adjoining hills and mountains rise sharply 25 m to more than 100 m above the plains.
