| Pennsylvania Soil Climate Atlas
|
The landscapes of Pennsylvania reflect a complex history of geomorphic and climatic events, which also have affected soil and ecosystem development significantly. The interaction of soil, climate, and landscape produces considerable natural resource diversity.
Penn State Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletin 873 summarizes the soil climatology of Pennsylvania and provides spatial estimates of the Commonwealth's soil moisture and temperature regimes. Agro-climatic regions are defined over relatively homogeneous areas of soil, climate, and landscapes that affect the agronomic crop production.
