Elevation and Topography:
Elevation ranges from 1,100 to 1,800 m in the north, increasing gradually to 1,800 or 2,400 m in the south and in central Wyoming. The rugged hills and low mountains are cut by many narrow valleys that have steep gradients. Broad flood plains and fans border a few of the major rivers.
