Soils:
Most of the soils are Ustolls. They are moderately deep and deep, well drained and moderately well drained, and medium textured and moderately coarse textured. These soils have a mesic temperature regime, an ustic moisture regime, and mixed mineralogy. The nearly level to sloping Argiustolls (Holt, Kadoka, Paka, Reliance, and Tuthill series) and Haplustolls (Anselmo and Vetal series) are on uplands. The moderately steep to steep Ustorthents (Okaton series) and Torriorthents (Tassel series) are on the sides of draws, on high ridges, and along drainageways. Deep sandy Haplustolls (Doger, Dunday, and Elsmere series) and Ustipsamments (Valentine series) are in areas of eolian deposits. Ustifluvents (Inavale series) and Fluventic Haplustolls (Cass series) are along the drainages.
