Climate:
Average annual precipitation 325 to 425 mm. Maximum precipitation is in midspring and late in autumn. Average annual temperature 7 to 10 C in most of the area, increasing to 13 C in the extreme south. Average freeze-free period-120 to 160 days in most of the area but as long as 180 days in the extreme south.
