Potential Natural Vegetation:
This area supports short, mid, and tall grass plant communities on the uplands. Big bluestem, little bluestem, switchgrass, indiangrass, sideoats grama, blue grama, and western wheatgrass are major species on silty soils. Needleandthread, prairie sandreed, sand bluestem, little bluestem, and blue grama are major species on sandy soils.
